A short timeline of our story
How we met
May 20, 2017
We are both lucky that our lovely friend Ashley knows everyone in the city of Raleigh. The night we met, she had a party at a nightclub and invited many of her favorite friends. After the party, a group of us decided to grab food and as luck would have it, both of us love tacos at all times of the night, including 1 a.m. Though we hadn't talked while at the party, Nicole, feeling bold, decided to shout at Matt from in front of the restaurant "Hey! You're real handsome!" We exchanged numbers, yadda yadda yadda, we made it all the way here.
Moved in together
December 2018
Nicole's townhome was large, and filled with dogs, but it needed another human and a cat to make it feel like home! The animals needed some time to get used to each other, but eventually, they learned to like one another (sometimes).
Bought a house together
August 2019
Though we loved the townhouse, we decided a yard to putter in for the dogs and humans alike was a necessity. We bought a house together and got everything ready just in time for the holidays where we were able to host friends and family together for the first time. We are extra thankful for the house during quarantine, and so are the pets!
Proposal and Engagement
January 19, 2020
We took a beautiful trip to Punta Cana in January of 2020. Matt had planned on proposing the first night, but the wind was so bad at the beach that he decided to wait until the next day. The ocean is arguably Nicole's favorite place, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to explore the beach, find some shade amongst the palm trees, and nervously get down on one knee!
Wedding Day
June 5, 2021
We wanted our wedding to be private, outside, and in a pretty area. The moment we walked through Diamond Falls Preserve near Asheville, we knew it was perfect! With lots of hiking trails, a fishing pond, and a beautiful waterfall with a swimming hole, this property offers much to do and explore. We have a cabin rented for the week so we can have a little vacation with our families leading up to the wedding day. With lots of space to spend time with those we love, we cannot wait to celebrate with you!
